Student Spotlight - Tashi and Nabin

Tourism and Hospitality are Scotland’s largest industries and attract visitors from across the globe. Whilst on a visit to Scotland from Nepal, Nabin visited UHI Perth to enquire about hospitality courses. Fast forward a few years and he has just finished his HND in Hospitality Management, alongside his fellow classmate, Tashi.  We had a chat with both students to hear how they have found studying internationally.

Student Spotlight - Josephine Tidser

The Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) has a requirement for all managers, operation managers, deputy managers, supervisors of care services, and new business residential care supervisors and deputies to have a Care Services Leadership and Management SVQ4 qualification. At UHI Perth, our course provides a good basis for managing a care service and supports individuals to undertake management responsibility. The course is work-based, so you can continue working whilst undertaking your studies, and this is exactly what Josephine did.

The Aviation industry requires high calibre engineers at every stage of the product life cycle, from conceptual design through to in-service support. Studying in the Aviation department at UHI Perth will prepare you to meet the ever-growing need for engineers in this innovative and progressive sector. Aircraft Engineering is a strategically important industry for Scotland with companies such as BAE Systems and Rolls Royce employing people in high skill, high-paying jobs. We had a chat with one of our fourth-year students as she was nearing the end of her degree ✈️.

At UHI Perth, we provide full and part-time courses for people who might lack the confidence to study in a busy College environment. Would you like your training delivered by an organisation that has more than 90 years of experience in training aircraft maintenance and management personnel for the global aviation industry?  Our Aircraft Maintenance Engineering and Management degree is the only one of its kind in Scotland and is designed to produce graduate-calibre aircraft maintenance engineers. Now in her final year of the course, Jessica gave us a rundown on her time at UHI Perth.

Our facilities on campus are exactly as you would find when working in industry. We want you to have a successful career in industry, and we ensure that our courses give you the best chance to do so.
