Can you introduce yourself?

My name is Martyna Tryba and I am from Perth, Scotland.

What course are you studying at UHI Perth, and what year are you currently in?

I have just finished Next Steps to Learning SCQF Level 4, and then I am moving onto NQ Admin, Business and Accounting.

How did you hear about UHI Perth?

I heard about it from guidance teachers in my high school.

What were you doing before you came to UHI Perth?

I was in high school full time.

Why did you decide to pick this course?

I decided to pick this course to help me decide what I would like to do in the future because it lets you get a feel of a lot of different subjects.

What is your favourite thing about the course?

I like that you get to try everything, and the lecturers are extremely helpful.

Has there been any standout/memorable moments from your course?

Finding new friends and trying things I’ve never tried before, like certain sports.

What knowledge, skills and experience have you gained from your course that will help you when you leave UHI Perth?

My self-confidence has improved, and I have better understanding of what I need to do to be a successful student.

Have you undertaken a placement or work experience whilst at UHI Perth?

I haven’t but am currently looking for a summer opportunity.

Have your lecturers been supportive during your studies?

They’ve been very supportive and have definitely helped me through the whole year, when it comes to work or simple support through the day,

Any other achievements you have gained on your journey?
I have got further than I thought I would, which means I am able to go into a course I look forward to after this one, and I know my way around the college which will also be helpful.

What do you like about the campus/facilities?

I like that you can get everything you need, and I also like that the buildings are easy to navigate which can be daunting in the beginning of the year.

Have you enjoyed studying at UHI Perth? Any highlights?

I have really enjoyed studying at UHI and a huge highlight has been making strong friendships and memories even out of classes.

Do you have any hobbies or interests outside of your studies?

I really enjoy reading, which is why I’m going down a path that will hopefully help me reach my dream job.

What are your future career plans?

My career plan for the future is being a publisher.

And finally, what advice would you give to someone thinking about studying at UHI Perth?

I would tell them there’s nothing to worry about, and people are much nicer and more laid back than you might think.
