🎃Spooky Halloween Biscuits👻
🎃 Grab your spooky shaped cookie cutters and bake our Halloween shaped biscuits. 👻
This recipe makes 6-8 yummy biscuits and takes less than 30 minutes to make, from start to finish.
You will need:
100g softened unsalted butter
100g caster sugar
1 large egg
275g plain flour
1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
400g icing sugar
3-4 tablespoons of water
2-3 drops of the food colouring of your choice
How to make:
Preheat your oven to 190C
Prepare a baking tray with greaseproof paper
Mix together the butter and sugar in a bowl until the mixture is combined
Bit by bit, add in the egg and vanilla extract and beat well until the mixture is combined
Stir in the flour until the mixture resembles a dough
On a lightly floored work surface, roll out the dough to a thickness of 1cm
Cut the dough using your Halloween shaped cutters and carefully place the shapes onto the lined baking tray
Put the tray in the oven for 8-10 minutes – or until your biscuits are a pale golden brown – and leave to cool for 5 minutes on a wire rack
To make the icing, sieve the icing sugar into a bowl and stir in the 3-4 tablespoons of water to create a smooth mixture. Then add in your food colouring of choice
Using a knife, spread the icing mixture onto the top of the biscuits and leave to harden
If you are looking to add more detail to your biscuits once the first layer of icing has hardened, you can make a smaller batch of icing mixture in a different colour.
