As exam season is underway, take a look at the 10 best study spots on campus to find your perfect distraction-free place.

1. IT Suite

Located on the ground floor of the library study centre in the Brahan Building, this area has 50 PCs and a printer and is open 9am-4.30pm during term time.

2. First floor of the library

In the study centre in the Brahan Building, you can access one of the multimedia PCs or borrow a wireless laptop. During term time, you will find it open from 8am to 9pm Monday to Thursday and from 9am to 4.45pm on a Friday.

3. Silent study in the library

If you are looking for a quiet room, which is only used for silent study, then you will find a great place to get your head down here. There is also access to power sockets if you wish to use laptops in this area. The great news is there is no need to book, so if there is a desk available, feel free to take a seat.

4. Union Link

Did you know that the Union Link has a computer suite? This is the perfect spot if you are looking for a quiet computer area, but don’t want to sit in a library setting.

5. Bookable group study areas

If you want to discuss your coursework as a group, did you know that you can book a study area in the library? Just ask one of the friendly library team for help.

6. Soft seating area in the library

If you need a break from studying, you will find a soft seating area in level 2 where you can relax and forget about your course work for a moment!

7. Weekend study space in the ASW

We know that having a space available to study at the weekend is something that our students are keen for, so the library team have been trialling access to a space in room 964 of the ASW until 19th May. The space is available on Saturdays and Sundays, from 10am – 4pm, and is equipped with computers and a printer.

Please note, you will need a valid student ID to access the room.

8. Study room in Goodlyburn

If you are looking for a quiet place to study in Goodlyburn, then room 516/517 is available to use and does not need to be booked.

9. Costa

Do you need coffee and cake to fuel your study breaks? Why not make use of your student discount and use one of the three Costa’s located on campus?
