We are the longest established audio engineering education centre in Scotland, with a reputation as a centre of excellence. Now in her final year, Jessica chats to us about her experience.

Student Spotlight - Steven Mitchell

The Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) has a requirement for all managers, operation managers, deputy managers, supervisors of care services, and new business residential care supervisors and deputies to have a Care Services Leadership and Management SVQ4 qualification. At UHI Perth, our course provides a good basis for managing a care service and supports individuals to undertake management responsibility. The course is work-based, so you can continue working whilst undertaking your studies, which is exactly what Steven did

Student Spotlight - Neil Prentice

Did you know that UHI Perth is the longest established audio engineering department in Scotland and one of the first ever in the UK? Our reputation in industry is second to none, and all of our lecturers have had successful careers in the audio industry, so you can be sure that you are taught by experts in their field.

Now in the final year of his studies, we had a chat with a mature student who has had an interest in audio engineering since childhood.

Student Spotlight - Lauren Laird

As part of the Food Studies and Hospitality courses, students have a chance to be a part of our training restaurant. This is a fast-paced restaurant serving breakfast, lunch and evening meals to visitors, staff, and students, and means students get real-life experience preparing and serving.

Lauren joined us straight from school and is loving her time so far at UHI Perth.

Scottish Apprenticeship Week

We’re supporting #ScotAppWeek24 from 4 to 8 March to show that apprenticeships are creating Scotland’s #SkillsGeneration. Did you know that over 40,000 apprentices are supporting around 12,000 businesses across the country? 

We caught up with a range of UHI Perth apprentices to find out about their journey so far and hear about the skills they are gaining that employers need now and in the future.

Student Spotlight - Liam Taylor

If you are looking for invaluable skills to prepare you for your career in the food industry, our highly commended programmes are delivered in partnership with the crème de la crème of industry professionals. As well as the chance to develop your skills in fine dining with the public in our training restaurant, you’ll also get to work in our Food Court. Liam started at UHI Perth on a schools/college partnership course and is now on his third course.
